Based in North Wales, Mark Dennis once described as a ‘One Man Orchestra’ and a 'Human Jukebox' ~ the self-taught guitarist has developed a playing style, combining simple and complex finger picking, emotional lyrics and heart-felt vocals and story telling creates a unique blend of melodic indie-fusion soundscapes with the guitar.

 

2024 & 2025 have been exciting years, this acoustic raconteur has supported the amazing British songwriter Boo Hewerdine, the incredible American guitarist Brooks Williams with the dynamic fiddle player Aaron Catlow.  Mark also supported the Australian songwriter Liz Stringer as part of her UK tour. Paul Casey (Chris Rea's guitarist) at Prohibition Studios in Liverpool. The Lancashire born songwriter Quint Starkie, who lives over in Stockholm, will be touring with Dorie Jackson in July, Mark is thrilled to be asked to support Quint on his 2025 tour.

 

​Selected as a finalist in the Liverpool's Acoustic Songwriters Challenge for the second year running, Mark has also played live on local radio and is looking forward to releasing his first music video and digital EP of new songs during 2025.  

A chance meeting with Boo Hewerdine inspired Mark to start writing his own acoustic material.  Mark keeps his songs as simple stories with interesting and subtle flavours of soul, folk, country and a dash of rootsey blues. His stories embrace the listener, some say there are 'tastes of Americana' some say, 'Folk-~Fusion’ have a listen and you decide.

 

​Mark is a remarkable guitarist, playing with energy and great variation in both volume and technique.
